February’s 100% Optical was the year’s must-see UK industry event. The New Optometrist was fortunate to be there and found that – from the educational insights and glitzy eyewear fashion shows to the plethora of new technologies, services, and solutions on display – it didn’t disappoint!
If you attended this or previous iterations of 100% Optical, however, you will know that there can be just too much to fit into three days. So, for those of you who may have missed some of this year’s highlights – or were not able to attend at all – The New Optometrist caught up with a host of exhibitors to capture their key conference messages.

Flashback to 100% Optical 2023, we had the chance to speak with Shaun Bace from Jai Kudo Lenses.
The company has recently celebrated 25 years as a leading supplier of stock and surfaced ophthalmic lenses, with over 2 million lenses held in stock.
They pride themselves on their wide portfolio of products including their WIDEVIEW SUPERIOR progressive lenses with camber technology and our unique Honeycomb coating offering anti-fatigue properties. They recently expanded their portfolio to include their brand new XP Pro Gaming Lens launched at 100% Optical 2023.
Flashback to 100% Optical 2023, we had the opportunity to stop by OcuPlan’s booth.
OcuPlan is a shared care platform, working with opticians and consultant ophthalmologists to offer the gold standard in clinical care for patients living with long-term eye conditions such as glaucoma and AMD. It was great to see so many people there!

We caught up with Ko Lane, Marketing Manager of Rayner at 100% Optical 2023!
Rayner wants to reinforce to the optometry community the importance of treating dry eye for all patients both before and after surgery to help support patient satisfaction and visual outcomes.
AEON is designed specifically for use before and after eye surgery. These eye drops also offer soothing relief from general dry eye symptoms.
Based on its patented technology platform, Occuity is developing a range of innovative ophthalmic devices which are handheld, non-contact and require no consumables – providing a better patient and practitioner experience. The company showcased its first two products at this year’s 100% Optical. The PM1 Pachymeter, which will launch later this year and will be the world’s first non-invasive handheld Pachymeter, and the AX1 Axiometer™, which is anticipated to launch in 2024, and is set to make it easier for practitioners to offer myopia management by measuring axial-length in seconds.
